About The Eco Heart Founder

Kath kicked off her interest in supporting community fundraising for the Cerebral Palsy Association of Tasmania, through the now defunct Miss Tasmania Awards in 1998. In this time Kath raised over $20k in 6 months single handedly, and knows all too well the stress, discomfort and constant nagging it takes to get family, friends, and businesses to support a cause.

In 2005 Kath commenced work as the 30th Anniversary Fundraising Coordinator at the Salamanca Arts Centre, and soon realised that again one-off events were time-consuming ways to raise funds. Each event was essentially an entire product launch requiring it’s own unique set of systems and processes, volunteer work force and sponsorship request process.

Kath got smart, well as smart as what was available in the industry at the time, to make ongoing funds for the Arts Centre. She soon carved that role into a 20hr / week Business Development Manager role, and secured ongoing sponsors for the Arts Centre, rather than spending a few hours a week, and just for its 30th year.

In 2009-2011 Kath furthered her career in Business Development Manager for the Victorian Farmers’ Markets Association. Working with high-level sponsorship mentors Kath helped develop ongoing partner relationships with the likes of Smeg, Matt Wilkinson (Chef), Stephanie Alexander (Chef), and Australia Post.

Since these vocational experiences and raising her boy Art, Kath has started and successfully maintained a Brand and Marketing Agency, kathclarke.com, and now trains small to medium business owners in marketing and sales strategy and execution.

Becoming an entrepreneur Kath reflected upon the lack of ‘autopilot’ processes and funds generation in the fundraising space, as well as the incredibly time-intensive structure required to fill the coffers of these clubs and organisations.
